Summer reading

Last week began the hot and humid summer season in the South. It has become a tradition by some media personalities and celebrities to announce their summer reading list. Well, I’m neither a celebrity nor a media personality, so I thought I would highlight the summer reading list from Bill Gates, found on his Gates Notes blog. If you want a real treat, go to his site where he produced a video starring puppies to highlight the book list by clicking this link: b-gat.es/2GFpNXz).

Here are his recommendations:

  1. Leonardo da Vinci, by Walter Isaacson
  2. Everything Happens for a Reason and Other Lies I’ve Loved, by Kate Bowler
  3. Lincoln in the Bardo, by George Saunders
  4. Origin Story: A Big History of Everything, by David Christian
  5. Factfulness: Ten Reasons We’re Wrong About the World—and Why Things Are Better Than You Think, by Hans Rosling et al.

I’m excited that I’ve already read both the “Leonard da Vinci” and “Lincoln in the Bardo” books. I agree with Bill; they are outstanding!
