I love to read, a gift my parents instilled in me. Many nights I fall asleep with a book on my chest. I don’t read on a device; I want to hold a book in my hand. For me a perfect day would be to go to an antique bookstore and sit among the leather books—looking at each one and thinking of them as a long-lost treasured friend.
My all-time favorite books are:
- “John Adams,” by David McCullough
- “Speak Like Churchill, Stand Like Lincoln: 21 Powerful Secrets of History’s Greatest Speakers,” by James C. Humes
- “The Pillars of the Earth,” by Ken Follett
- “The Screwtape Letters,” by C.S. Lewis
- “Shakespeare on Management: Leadership Lessons for Today’s Management,” by Paul Corrigan
- “Where the Sidewalk Ends,” by Shel Silverstein
- “To Kill A Mockingbird,” by Harper Lee
My list must include the Book of Common Prayer since I own several hundred rare and antique editions. If you ever want to see them, give me a call.
